Yifan Wu       China

Yifan Wu born in 2005, he began to learn piano at the age of 4. Since childhood, he showed extraordinary musical talent and was active on the performance stage of the children's palace. He has won awards in various piano competitions in Shanghai for many times. In September 2019, he was admitted to The Music Middle School Affiliated with Shanghai Conservatory of Music with excellent professional results, and began his professional study from Professor Yunlin YANG, a famous piano educator and master supervisor of Shanghai Conservatory of music.

After entering The Music Middle School Affiliated with Shanghai Conservatory of Music, under the careful guidance of Professor Yunlin YANG, he has made great progress. He has successively won the RENMIN Scholarship. He has also won Niu Ende scholarship and Shanghai scholarship. He also won awards in various competitions:

 

  • The first prize of Group Four in Pre-selection of the 29th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth in China

  • The first prize of Group C in 10th Steinway National Youth Piano Competition Shanghai in 2021

  • The first prize of Category E in VI Paris International Music Competition

  • The first prize of the professional open group in 10th Shenzhen Piano Open Competition in 2021 & Niu Ende piano scholarship Gold Award

  • The first prize of the 8th International Youth Pianist Competition in China in 2021

  • The Gold Prize of Chamber Music Group D1 in World Classical Music Awards in 2021

  • The first prize of Chamber Music Group H in the 4th International Music Competition “CITTA’ DI SARZANA” in 2021

  • The first prize of group A of the 15th Double Piano and Four Hands Competition in Shenzhen, China in 2020

Angela Ye        Canada

Angela is from Oakville, Ontario, Canada, 17 years old and is currently studying for her ARCT Piano Performance Diploma with Dr. Olga Chichova. 

 

Angela has received numerous scholarships and awards from local, provincial, international and Steinway competitions. In 2019, Angela won the Junior Pianist Contract Award at the GOCAA international finals in Boston. In 2020, she performed at New York City’s prestigious Carnegie Hall. In 2021, she was a recipient of the Canadian Young Artist Standards of Excellence Awards. In 2022, she held her piano recital in Toronto Steinway Piano Gallery.

 

In addition to piano, Angela sings and plays violin. She is currently a first violin for the Oakville Symphony Youth Orchestra’s (OSYO) most advanced group. 

 

Angela supports her community by performing in charity concerts, accompanying seniors at the Kangle Senior Home who share her passion for music, and simply volunteering at a variety of non-profit organizations such as Redleaf Cultural Integration. 

 

Angela enjoys other aspects of her life too. She is currently working hard to complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme at school. She engages in school clubs like DECA, volleyball and STEM study groups. She and her DECA team qualified to National Final in 2021. Her favorite subject at school is math. She has participated in many of the Waterloo Math Contests as well as American Mathematics Contests (AMC).   She placed in the top 2.5% for AMC 10 and was invited to write the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME). She is a well-established peer tutor at her school where she offers her help to those who need it in the subjects of math and science. She also swam competitively for 6 years and qualified for the Niagara Championships in Buffalo, New York.

 

Angela finds joy in everything she does. She is grateful that she’s had the opportunity to find many loves and interests at such an early age so she shares it with her community.
